I know this saying sounds cliché, but sometimes each of us needs a kick in the tush! As 2013 comes to a close, I thought I would quickly chat about something that most of us like to avoid discussing. Life can be tough. We all know that… But we don’t all react the same way to tough things in life.

Your life will have its downs. You will struggle sometimes. Some things will seem unbearable and inescapable. You need to suck it up and carry on during these times.
If there’s one thing I can tell you, it’s that even though we have hard times and down times, life will always come back around and improve. Just batten down the hatches and trudge through the tough times.

Instead of focusing on what I don’t have or I can’t do, I concentrate on the things that I CAN do to make my situation better than it is. Recently, my husband and I both found out we are losing our jobs due to our facility being shut down and moved out of state. The very first day we received the news, we were planning on what needed to be done in order to put ourselves in the best position possible for our future. It evolves constantly, but the basic understanding we have together to do what we need to make this work is all I need to keep forging ahead. Thank God for my wonderful partner, my husband.
Your job loss is a perfect example… Especially the added stress and pain of both of you simultaneously losing your jobs. Good on you for the positive outlook and pushing through this struggle.
